MEDIA RELEASE – Thursday, 3rd November 2022.
16 Days is an international campaign of activism against gender-based violence. It runs between November 25th and December 10th.
The campaign raises awareness and challenges attitudes and laws to end violence against women.
Yourtoolkit.com fundamentally supports the 16 Days campaign as we work to support women who experience all forms of violence, particularly as we approach the December school holidays Christmas period, where we see an increase in domestic violence.
Yourtoolkit.com provides a free, step-by-step guide on personal safety, support services and money matters for people facing family and domestic violence.
In Western Australia, businesses, governments and individuals are encouraged to participate in the 16 days in WA campaign. Participants are encouraged to create change and:
- Donate to women’s organisations
- Invite community involvement by hosting a fundraising event
- Visit the Perth landmarks that will be lit in orange to promote the end of gender-based violence campaigns
- Share images on social media using the hashtags #16DaysinWA #StopTheViolence #DontBeSilent
Yourtoolkit.com will continue providing the vital online resource for women facing family and domestic violence. Additional marketing campaigns to let people know it is available will run during the 16 days in WA – thanks to support from Woodside.
Over three years, Woodside Energy will continue to contribute financial support and fund Yourtoolkit.com campaigns to extend the resource to a national audience.
Yourtoolkit.com CEO Penny Fegan comments:
“Woodside Energy has supported Yourtoolkit.com from our early days. Their continued investment will enable us to build on our successes of launching a refreshed website, increasing our website users significantly and delivering a service surveyed website users value.
We are very grateful to Woodside Energy, their support will help Yourtoolkit.com support many more Australian women and children.”
